The largest Canyon in Africa and the second largest in the world (after the Grand
Canyon in northern Arizona, USA).
At about 160km long in total, just under 550m at it’s deepest point and 27km at it’s
widest point, this is a very impressive landscape.

Day hikes into the canyon are STRICTLY prohibited. A very tough 85km 4 - 5 day hiking
trail is available from mid April to mid September, and needs a minimum of 3 persons,
each with a medical fitness certificate.
